What is Striking?

In martial arts and combat sports, striking refers to hand-to-hand combat between opponents in a standing position, as distinguished from ground fighting. Striking involves the use of fists, knees, elbows, and kicks to hurt your opponent or set up the opportunity to enter into grappling. Members of WNY MMA & Fitness in Buffalo, NY will not only learn the offensive attacks of the striking arts, but also be able to defend themselves from someone trying to attack them. Though there are many striking arts, we have found the most useful to be: Boxing,Kickboxing and Muay Thai Kickboxing. If you are efficient at one or more of these disciplines, you will be more than competent in a stand up fight.
