BJJ promotes flexibility, strength, cardiovascular endurance, and all around good health. Individuals train BJJ for a variety of reasons: for self defense, for competition, for fun, for MMA, for health, etc. No matter the reason, there are many great benefits associated with training BJJ. Friendships are born, physical fitness is attained, confidence grows, etc...
At Team Ascension NY we believe in using martial arts to have a positive effect on everyone's life. Building self-confidence, and health are very important; but we feel having fun and gaining knowledge are the most significant aspects of the art. Along with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu we combine elements of yoga, strength and conditioning, wrestling, judo, and sambo into our program.
Anyone of any skill is welcome. We have a competition team, train amateur and pro mixed martial artist, and hobbiests.
We are affiliated with Professor Omar Salvosa and Team Ascension Salvosa BJJ.

Participants will need either a Judo, or a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gi (as seen in the images below), a belt, a cup, and a mouth peice.
BJJ Class Times:
Monday - 9:30am-11:30am, 7:05pm-8:30pm
Wednesday - 7:05pm-8:30pm
Friday - 9:30am-11:30am
