We mention this because most teams hide losses and only mention wins. This mentality is ego driven and a large problem with our sport in general. There is a very small portion of the population that even has what it takes to step into a ring, cage or on a mat with another trained athlete and put it all on the line, and for that we respect each and every one of you.

Congrats to the Paul Moon, Dave Szprygada & Michael Katilus for competing at the Montreal Open this past weekend. Michael ended up getting 3rd place in his division and 2nd in the Absolutes.

Congrats to the guys who competed today in Lockport, NY. Erick scored another win with a decision victory and Ariel lost a decision. Congrats also to Amer Abdallah who remained undefeated (10-0) with a 2nd round KO in the nights main event.

Great job was done today by both Dave G and Dougie Fresh at the US Grappling Submission Only event in Rochester, NY. Dave won all his matches taking 1st in both gi and no gi and Doug took 3rd in no gi and 4th in gi.

Congrats to Dan Donahue for his performance in the NY Open BJJ tournament this weekend. Dan went 2-1 on the day scoring 1 submission, 1 win by advantage and 1 loss by points.

Congrats to Michael Katilus and Erick Plumeri on their performances this weekend. Michael went 4-1 on his way to the Bronze medal at the Pan Am BJJ tournament, not allowing a single point scored against him all day (lost by advantage). Erick stopped his opponent in the 2nd round at Castricone's on Saturday night.

Rough weekend as the gym had it's worst team showing in our history, going 0-4 at the Golden Gloves. When compared to our last year's Golden Glove performance of 5-0 and a period where the team went 29-1, we'll chalk this one up to a bad night and come back stronger next time. Congrats to all those who competed. Keep your head (and hands) up!

Congrats to Frankie "Knuckles" and TJ "Hyttman" Sumler on their performances at Raging Wolf Xl on Saturday night. TJ scored a 1st Rd TKO, ruining Chris Robinson's pro debut and Frankie lost a very close split decision to Antonio Smith in a back and forth battle that could have gone either way. We're hoping to get a rematch with Antonio at the next event.

Congrats to Matt B & Dave S who went out Friday night and put it on the line at EFC 7 in Erie, PA. The results weren't what we were hoping for as our guys went 0-2, both losing decisions. Our 3rd fight got canceled due to the opponents inability to make weight. You guys fought hard and made us proud, regardless of the final outcome.

WNY MMA & Fitness welcomes the newest addition to the team; BJJ coach, Matt Godden!
We said from the start that our goal was to bring the most talented local athletes together under 1 roof to help push each other to our full potential. The addition of Matt along with Rosco and the other guys they bring with them is a BIG step towards this goal and a natural fit since they were there over 5 years ago when WNY MMA first started. We will also be adding more BJJ classes in the very near future. Stay tuned!

Great job was done by everyone yesterday at the first ever Wolfamania! Brian and Paul closed out their No Gi division, taking 1st and 2nd and fought up a weight class in the gi, with Brian taking 3rd. Doug took 3rd in gi and Adam won his Superfight with Craig Ostrum by points. Adam also did well in the absolute losing in the semi's the the eventually winner.

Our undefeated (16-0) streak, active since early May, finally got broken this weekend. Congratulations to everyone who competed this weekend; Erick, Doug, Mike S, Rich, Kelvin, Dave, Emmanuel, & Matt. You all fought hard and made us proud.

Our results for NYS Grappling Champions were:
Emmanuel took 1st in Advanced Gi and 2nd in Advanced No Gi
Matt took 1st in Intermediate Gi and 1st in Intermediate No Gi

Great night of fights last night as Corey and Erick both came up winners at Lace Up Promotions: Redemption.
Erick Plumeri looked great. He fought a very tough fight and came away with the decision victory.
Corey "The Ever Changing Nickname" Webster was on his game in the Co-Main Event as he KO'd his opponent 1 and 1/2 minutes into the first round/
Pat "The Real Deal" Thompson's opponent pulled out, so he didn't get to fight.
Also, congrats to Amer Abdallah for winning the Eastern US Title and bringing it back to Lockport, NY!

Jordon will be coming into Buffalo and training with us on Friday 8/13 and Saturday 8/14. He will be teaching class Friday night and teaching a seminar from 12-3 pm Saturday, 8/14. The cost for the seminar will be $40. He also teaches privates for $40/hour.

Erick won via 2nd round TKO & is now NYS Golden Gloves Champion!
Pat won via decision and is now the NYS Golden Gloves Champion!
Corey lost a very close decision and took 2nd in the tournament.
The results for the NYS Grappling Championship were:
Mike Schultz went 5-2 on the day, getting all his wins by submission. He also went on to get 1st in his No Gi division!
Doug fought hard, but lost in the end to the points game.

After a grueling 2 1/2 hour test with Kyle Saunders, Mike "Youtube" Schultz and Mike Katilus earned their blue belts on Saturday, 2/13/10. A well deserved promotion.
Sunday Class Change
Submission Wrestling will now start at 2 pm on Sundays (instead of 1 pm) and run until 4 pm.
New Class Added
Starting on Monday, February 3rd, 2010 there will now be a Cardio Kickboxing class at 7:00 am on Mondays & Wednesdays.

Congrats to TJ Sumler and his opponent, Sam Pascuzzi, for putting on a great fight on Saturday night. TJ lost a decision in the end, but had a few times where he came close to putting a very game Sam away. Back to work and we'll return better, faster, stronger then before.

Congrats to the guys who competed at the Golden Gloves and Fredonia's NYS Grappling Championship!
The results for Golden Gloves were:
Erick won via 2nd round TKO & is now NYS Golden Gloves Champion!
Pat won via decision and is now the NYS Golden Gloves Champion!
Corey lost a very close decision and took 2nd in the tournament.
The results for the NYS Grappling Championship were:
Mike Schultz went 5-2 on the day, getting all his wins by submission. He also went on to get 1st in his No Gi division!
Doug fought hard, but lost in the end to the points game.
Again, congrats on getting out there and competing!

The schedule has changed. Starting April 7th, 2010 we will now have open mat from 6-7pm followed by No Gi Submission Grappling from 7-9pm on Wednesday nights.

Congrats to our new Blue Belts!
After a grueling 2 1/2 hour test with Kyle Saunders, Mike "Youtube" Schultz and Mike Katilus earned their blue belts on Saturday, 2/13/10. A well deserved promotion.
Sunday Class Change
Submission Wrestling will now start at 2 pm on Sundays (instead of 1 pm) and run until 4 pm.
New Class Added
Starting on Monday, February 3rd, 2010 there will now be a Cardio Kickboxing class at 7:00 am on Mondays & Wednesdays.
